WorkFaith

WorkFaith is a ministry to teach the Christian approach to a layman’s job.  A WorkFaith Ministry is being developed at the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee, Florida  (Note: check out their web site at http://www.workfaith.org.)

The vision of that ministry is “to empower, educate and encourage the Christian to view their professional responsibilities not as service to others, but as a service to God (Colossians 3:23 “Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters.”)

Two videos from WorkLife.org will further explain WorkFaith.

The first video is an interview of Dr. Henry Blackaby, author of “Experiencing God” by Doug Spada, founder and CEO of WorkLife as he explains the role of the church and pastors to prepare laymen for the work place: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i4Pn0EfJ7g

The second video is a presentation by Doug Spada of the changing role of the Church projecting its presence into the world of work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-tDaFcsVdo

One of the more mature Faith at Work (a generic term for workplace ministries) is that at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York.  See their website at: http://www.faithandwork.org   Much of Redeemer’s Faith and Work Ministry is through vocational groups.  At their website click on vocational groups to see the 16 vocational groups they support.
